The AHA BLS Provider course offers essential Basic Life Support training for individuals who are licensed in their field, such as RNs, EMTs, and Pharmacists, or those pursuing licensure as part of their employment requirements. If you have any questions regarding the BLS Provider course please feel free to reach out for clarification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) training is essential for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to learn how to perform Adult, Child, and Infant CPR with one or two rescuers. This includes skills such as using an AED, Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM) and other basic cardiovascular life support techniques. The BLS Provider course emphasizes the importance of teamwork during a multi-rescuer resuscitation attempt and addresses the relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking).
Please plan for 3.5 - 4 hours for the Basic Life Support training, which includes the BLS Provider course and aligns with the CPR certification schedule.
The Blended BLS Provider course consists of two parts: Part I involves completing the online segment at ShopCPR.Heart.org, using Product Code: 25-3553. Part II requires attending a hands-on skills session lasting 1.5 to 2 hours. To participate, you must bring your AHA BLS Heartcode certificate with you.
